Kandy

On arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be met and assisted by our Airport Representative. Your very own driver will the bring you (and your group) to the former Sri Lankan capital Kandy. Located in a beautiful landscape, filled with hills and forests, you can relax at your hotel and recover from a potential jetlag. Should you have some time to spare, your driver will gladly show around Kandy, as a first introduction to this beautiful and bustling city.

Knuckles Range

After an early morning rise, we will leave for the Knuckle Forest Range. Your breakfast will be packed for you, for you to enjoy during the drive. The mountain range, where you will spend the whole day, is a marvellous location for a wide range of activities. Knuckle Forest is well known for its bird watching, hiking, trekking, camping, and all sorts of wildlife photography.

Nuwaraeliya

After breakfast, you will first visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Here, you can enjoy a beautiful and rare collection of tropical and indigenous flora, including the famous Orchid House. We will be on our way to the heart of the Sri Lankan tea production region: Nuwara Eliya. On the way, you will visit both a tea plantation and a tea factory. You can even join in and pick some tea leaves yourself!

Horton Plains / Nuwara Eliya

After an early breakfast, you will leave for the highest plateau in the country: The Horton Plains. This incredibly scenic region offers some of the most stunning hiking trails, with an amazing photo opportunity around every corner. After you hike, you will return to Nuwara Eliya, where you can enjoy some sightseeing in the city in the afternoon.

Knuckles Forest Reserve

Wake up early, and leave for Knuckles Forest for some more bird watching. You can spot Yellow- Fronted Barbet, Sri Lankan White Eye, Black Headed Bulbul, Spot Wing Thrush, Dusk Blue Flycatcher, Brown Capped Babbler, Sri Lankan Warbler, White Faced Starling, Sri Lankan Grackle, Small Barbet, Sri Lankan Lorikeet, amongst many other species. Additionally, a visit to the forest is the ideal location to visit and look into traditional small mountain houses. The Knuckles mountain ranges showcase steep slopes, cloud covered peaks, cool mountain streams and high cascades.

Nuwara Eliya

We will continue our trip to the hill country of Nuwara Eliya. This area is the coldest in Sri Lanka, so dress accordingly. Nuwara Eliya is rich with lush green forests and boasts some amazing bio diversity. Gregory’s lakes, Haggala National Park, and numerous beautiful waterfalls add to the splendour of the area. The Queen Victoria Park is fantastic for bird watching. You can spot the Kashmir Flycatcher, Indian Blue Robin, Dull Blue Flycatcher, Yellow Eared Bulbul, which migrate from the Indian Himalayans.

Horton Plains

The Horton Plains is considered one of the most picturesque locations in the country. It is a beautiful mountainous nature park, situated some 2200 meters above sea level. A wide variety of animals can be seen here, including leopards, black napped hares, otters, and giant squirrels.

Yala National Park

After breakfast, we will take down from the cool hills into the jungle of Yala. On our way there, we will stop at the Rawana Waterfalls, where you can go for a quick swim if you want to. This truly is a sight to behold, set against an amazing backdrop of mountains and valleys. Bring your camera! When we arrive in Yala, you will first check in to your hotel and have the opportunity to freshen up. In the afternoon, a local guide will take you on an adventurous jeep safari in Yala National Park.

Bentota

After breakfast, we will prepare for quite a drive all the way to Bentota. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities to stop of course. Bentota is located on one of the finest beaches of the South West coast. You can spend the afternoon on the beach, listening to the sound of the Indian Ocean, sunbathe, enjoy the beach, and go for a swim. Locally, there are plenty opportunities to arrange for some surfing or blue water fishing.
