Colombo
On arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be met and assisted by our Airport Representative. Your very own driver will the bring you (and your group) to Colombo, the capital of our country. After checking in to your hotel, you can relax and recover from your (potential) jet lag. If you have some spare time, your chauffeur will happily show you around the city and introduce you to its sights and sounds.
Rathnapura
After an early breakfast, we will head out to the stunning city of gems: Ratnapura. It is considered the world’s richest finding place of gems, and almost all Sri Lankan gems are traded through Ratnapura. The city is surrounded by lush paddy fields, waterfalls, and dozens of rubber and tea plantations.
Sinharaja
The amazing Sinharaja rain forest is home to many endemic medicinal plants, birds, insects, mammals, and reptiles. You will spend several hours here, hiking through the jungle, bird watching, and seeing local sites.
Udawalawe
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will continue our journey to Udawalawe National Park. Located in the Southern part of Sri Lanka, this park is well known for its wide variety of animals and birds. Spotting a herd of wild elephants is guaranteed in Udawalawe. The park is also home to water buffalo, spotted or barking deer, wild boar, jackals, samba, mongoose, and many more species of reptiles, birds, and fish. The park also boasts a population of leopards, which are a bit harder to spot.
Yala
Around noon, we will head out to Yala National Park. Together with your guide, you can enjoy another jeep safari, in a park this is very different, yet equally beautiful, from Sinharaja and Udawalawe. You can also decide to stay in your hotel for the afternoon and relax.
Yala National Park
Fill both days with jeep safaris around the park. No safari is the same in Yala, as it is the second biggest national park in Sri Lanka.
Nuwaraeliya
We will be on our way to the heart of the Sri Lankan tea production region: Nuwara Eliya. It is sometimes called ‘Little England’. Spend the rest of your day in this beautiful area, and enjoy all the spectacles around the city.
Horton Plains
After an early breakfast, you will leave for the highest plateau in the country: The Horton Plains. This incredibly scenic region offers some of the most stunning hiking trails, with an amazing photo opportunity around every corner. The misty climate and high winds make for a stunning scenery, and the most amazing feature of the Horton Plains is the spectacular view from ‘The World’s End’. The plains are also home to leopards, black napped hares, otters, giant squirrels and many more species.
Colombo
Today you will have all the time to explore the capital of Sri Lanka: Colombo. Head into town for some shopping or sightseeing. Grab a tuktuk and head out to the bustling area of Pettah. You can visit the National Museum there, or visit local markets to find a wide variety of local products and gifts. Take some of the various Sri Lankan cultures home with you, to remember your visit to our beautiful country.
